It was composed on a day when two people very close to me were undergoing surgery. As I sat alone, with the weight of that moment, memories of slipping into the dreamlike state of anesthesia came back — that strange, suspended feeling just before the unknown. This piece captures that in-between space: detached yet peaceful, unsettling yet calm.
